Mumbo is an independent client app for your own Plex or Jellyfin media server. This page covers common questions and how to get help.
Mumbo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Plex Inc. or the Jellyfin Project.
Mumbo connects directly to your server. It does not host, provide, or have access to any media itself.
Mumbo can't find my server.
If you're on the same network as your server, make sure Mumbo has permission to access your local network (iOS will prompt for this the first time you connect. Check Settings → Mumbo → Local Network if you denied it by mistake).
If you're trying to connect remotely (away from home), this is almost always a network configuration issue on the server side, not something Mumbo can fix:
Video looks blurry or low quality. Open the video's playback settings and check the quality selector — if it's set below "Original," lower it back up. On a slow connection, dropping it down on purpose trades quality for smoother playback.
How do I change the language? Mumbo follows your device's language automatically. To override it, go to Settings → Language inside the app.
How do I switch servers or sign out? Open Settings from the side menu. You'll find your account and a sign-out option there.
Does Mumbo collect my data? No. Mumbo doesn't use ads, tracking, or analytics. It only communicates with the media server you connect it to.
